Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)
Important for International Visitors: If you're bringing a group of Scouts from outside the UK and Ireland, some members may need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the UK. This applies to most non-visa nationals.
For Scout Leaders: While your Scouts may be independent travelers, as a leader you should ensure everyone in your group understands the ETA requirements before traveling. Each person needs their own ETA, which costs £20 (approximately €23 as of 3 September 2026) and must be obtained before travel. Applications typically take around 3 working days to process, though it can be quicker.
For full details on who needs an ETA, how to apply, and exemptions, visit the official UK government website: gov.uk/ETA
Please note: This is not legal advice. Always check the official government website for the most current requirements and consult appropriate authorities if you have questions about your specific situation.
